Competitive Analysis

Quickturn

Michael Porter's five forces model was used by the Quick Insight software to analyze the market for Quickturn, a service organization.

The District Manager was introduced to Quick Insight in an academic setting. "When I used it, I entered real-time, real-life data on my company. The analysis was accurate in predicting what direction we needed to take, and in reflecting our position in the market. I found the software insightful in that it identified some weaknesses in the business we had not considered weak. By looking at the charts and graphs, we were able to get an accurate reflection on where we need to focus in the market, specifically in advertising and marketing support."

"I found Quick Insight to be a useful tool utilizing Michael Porter's five-forces model. While I used the software first in a classroom situation, I plan to continue using it for my business. It provides charts and graphs so you can easily examine your place in the market. For instance, there are spider graphs looking at product positioning, and charts showing the potential threat of competitors. I found these to be particularly useful when examining my business."

"Quick Insight should be used as a living document. Data should be reevaluated on a monthly or quarterly basis to reflect changes. Additionally, we used Quick insight for looking at our customer's business and their customer's business. For example, Motorola is a customer of Quickturn and Apple is a customer of Motorola. We evaluated all three companies and their respective markets."
